Just don't get it...

Driving on my way to my assigned games I stop at a gas station/mini mart “outside” of the Toledo area to purchase something to drink during my drive (and maybe in need of some caffeine also..lol).  For those of you that know me, I am not a White vs. Black type of person, but I am aware of the prejudices that still exist.

Case and point…I wait in line to purchase my Diet Dew and watch the cashier hand each customer their change back into their hands (Yes I am the only person of color in the store)….when I pay, she places my change on the counter??

For those of you that know me, I usually say something in instances like this, but I simply gathered my change. I then decided to purchase one of the “impulse items” that they stack near the register (gum).  She tells me the price and I lay my $$ down near the end of the counter (so that she’d have to reach out to get it) and smile, say Thank You and proceed on about my business out the door!  Probably not the right thing to do, but certainly didn’t ruin my mood!!...LOL

  1. I know what you mean Mark. I'm the type of person that will not say something or someone is racist but sometimes situations are obvious.I do something similiar that you did to the cashier. I watched a customer give a cashier a twenty dollar bill. She took it and put it in the register. I give her a twenty and she used the marker on it and then held it up looking for the strip. When she handed me my change I held the ten dollar bill up looking for the strip too. She looked at me like I was crazy. I said "If you can do it to me, I can do it to you!"

    2. I wouldn't be so nice. We make more in one game than they make on half of they shift. It's a reason why they work there. Hand me my MONEY! RESPECT
